Can you see the Hypocrisy?
Justice today is not equal in our country, in fact I would argue that today we have one set of laws for those without much money or connections versus those with a lot of money and many connections. Who does not recognize the pictures of Lady Justice, she holds the scales in one hand showing that all people accused of crimes will be treated fairly by the system regardless of financial status, or political connections. It seems to me today Lady Justice has decided to take a vacation from America.
Perhaps an example:
The CEO for MF Global, a major financial brokerage company specializing in the commodities market was named Jon Corzine. Mr. Corzine has been the governor of New Jersey, worked for Goldman Sachs, and a major fundraiser for President Obama, organizing $36,000.00 per plate dinners. Mr. Corzine oversaw as CEO the theft of $1.2 Billion dollars from private investors trust accounts during the final days of MF Global prior to its bankruptcy. I use the word theft because that is exactly what it was, theft of $1.2 billion dollars from over 30,000 people.
Now, if you went to your local bank, walked inside, demanded all the money they have taken from you over your life in fees, fines, and penalties, walked out of the bank, most likely you would face a dozen fully armed police with guns drawn telling you to hit the pavement. Soon you would either be arrested or shot dead even if you choose to deny you are robbing the bank and that it was your money. Assuming you decided to “give up”, within MINUTES you will be in handcuffs, a prison jump suit, slippers, pink boxers, and looking at a judge whom is asking you, “are you guilty?”. Swift justice to say the least, as it is written in the constitution that it is supposed to be.
However in Mr. Corzine’s case he went into hiding from the day of his resignation and announcement of MF Global’s bankruptcy for 30 DAYS!!! That is right, no police knocking on his door, no guns drawn, no one from the FBI, CIA, justice dept. or any other policing agency arresting this man whom was the CEO of a company that STOLE $1.2 billion dollars from over 30,000 people. Finally enough people wrote letters to their congressman to wake them up to try and get some accountability from this man. So what is the answer, not to arrest him and have him face charges, but to request him to appear before a congressional hearing, (AKA political theater), to answer questions from congressman.
Remember, you attempted to recoup your money from a bank, maybe getting about $10,000 bucks, then were forced to eat pavement, cuffed, jailed, shamed, put in pink underwear, and forced to plea to a judge, after maybe that same bank had charged you over $10,000 in fees and penalties over your life. However if your name is Jon Corzine, you can put on your suit, appear without police escort, have 10 attorneys working all around you, and be able to sit down at a table with the sign:
HONORABLE JON CORZINE
That is right, seated at a table, with coffee, water, snack food, and a sign designating this crook as honorable for stealing $1.2 BILLION dollars from 30,000 people, assuming most of them are residents in the districts of the congressman. When you were standing before the judge you where not called honorable, you are called an INMATE.
For 5 hours Mr. Corzine answered questions from congressman with the basic statement of:
“I don’t know where the money went, and I don’t know how it happened”.
That was the answer from the CEO, the highest position in a company, in which his salary and bonuses for the past year was in excess of $20 million dollars.
However the unemployed person, (you), whom in desperation to help pay to put food on a table for your children walked into a bank to try and get money back from that bank whom spent the last 20 years robbing you with fines, fees, and penalties, now sits in jail, unable to post bond, facing a 30 year prison sentence for robbery. Not only will you have to spend most of your adult life in a prison cell, you will have to pay restitution, and fees to the court which will take away every dollar and possession you own now and in the future upon your release.
Today Mr. Corzine is sitting in his 10 million dollar home, facing no charges, living the life of a global elite, with servants, a legal team that will handle any problems that he may face, and hundreds of paid off politicians that will ensure he will not be touched by the “justice” department.
When future books are written on the collapse of America, one chapter will be title over and over again, “Lady Justice decided to take a vacation from America.”
