Listen what I am about to say, some today will find controversial. In fact it may bring emotions within these four walls like we have never seen. I need to speak to you today about America. America needs our help. Liberty is on the ropes, and if we as Christians do not start to unite and speak up she may end up down for the 10 count.
The economic events over the past week have shown to me personally what I have been somewhat in denial about over the past year, and believe the vast majority of you as well. We are not perfect, we want our nice, cozy, comfortable and secure lives in America to continue. We wish we could stay happy in our homes, worshiping the Lord as we see fit, and live freely. However I see very clearly soon we may not. The stock market is but one indicator of the state of the economy in our country, and it screamed loudly. We have 45 million American’s on food stamps, 1.8 million personal bankruptcies this year, and a housing market that let me dare say it, has collapsed. Our Government is printing money as though we are all playing monopoly, which has driven up the prices of what we all need to live on, food, gasoline, electricity, and basic necessities. At the same time none of our wages have gone up for years, in fact many within these walls have been unemployed all year with no income coming in.
Not only did the Stock Market Scream, but so did Washington DC. We have watched for a month the COMPLETE INCOMPETENCE of every one of our elected congressman, senators, and president. (my apologies is congressman XXXXX if he is here). This incompetence has led to a “debt deal” that was no deal at all for the American people. It was nothing more than kicking the problem down the road, creating a new “super congress”, and trashing the document that I hold second to my heart after the bible, called the US constitution. This debt deal does not cut ONE DIME from our spending problem, it only proposes “reduction in the proposed spending increases”, of which most of those will not take place until after 2013. It authorized the US treasury to rise the debt ceiling from $14.2 trillion to $16.7 trillion, an amount which will never be paid back in our children’s lifetimes. Our government has enslaved us.
Friday night the S&P rating agency downgraded the USA debt for the first time in 70 years. Let me just tell you all that is bad news. Monday morning could see one of the largest drops in the Stock Market, or at least add fire to continue watching it fall further.
To everyone in this church, let me be the first to admit I am sorry. Sorry that I have not spoken up on this before, sorry that I have left this to festure. Sorry to have placed my concerns with keeping my 501(c)(3) tax exemption ahead of the word of God.
How many stories within the bible are of men and woman rising up against an oppressive government or ruler, From Daniel to Paul it is one of the cornerstones of God’s greatest works, assistance of the common man against tyranny so that they can live freely, as God intended us to.
So starting today, I am going take this church into a new direction, I am going to start to speak the truth within these walls, and with your help we are going to shed our labels of Republican or Democrat, and start to refer to yourself as liberty loving constitutional Americans.
Now let’s pray……

What we need to do is FAX the message to every church in the USA, every church….see how many adhere….that will tell you about what is happening in our beloved country…..we are not only misled by the "elite" but we are being misled by our preachers in the pulpit……it is time we as citizens wake up and realize we have been LIED to and take a new direction. If the preacher will not adhere to taking us in a new direction, then we must go it alone and God will send a prophet fit to lead us out of this wilderness, afterall, He promised us that!
When the church has had enough they WILL stand up and then the dividing will start. There will be some that stay and there will be those that will no longer put up with the tyranny in the pulpit…..keep telling it Chris. God is using you to warn the people just like he did Noah…….thx.
We should send it to all our elected officials with a stern letter telling them to change their course of action as soon as possible.
Honestly Steve, I don't see where this pastor is going with his demands. None of us wants to see any of the babies that weren't sacrificed to abortion starve or go without vaccines or treatment for ear infections. None of us want to see our aged parents lose their just recompense of the money their years of toil paid into Social Security (to only have greedy, self indulgent legislators claim as an entitlement). Most of us want this 10 year war to end, but none of us want our men and women in battle, under fed, under armored, under cared for, or under healed. None of us want to go to the water faucet and have unhealthy water fill our glasses. None of us wants to live through the big earthquake that will eventually hit California and have the American Government's hands tied from helping us clear the debris as it is in Joplin, Mo.- when the breadth and scope of the debris is greater than that of the World Trade Center. None of us want to live in tent camps, after a tragedy, as many in Joplin now are. We need to wake up and see that the Tea Party movement is a slick re-packaging of the Libertarian Party and that the Middle Class is becoming a relic and that poor people are swept aside. With the high stakes gambling our 401K's participate in daily, a strong Social Security system, with the caveat that it can't be raided by politicians again, might be the best course for at least keeping the lights on for people retiring at SEVENTY. Politicians keep calling for slashing, deeper cuts, belt tightening- where's theirs? It's just an excuse to slash, cut and tighten on the middle class, while allowing corporations to bully us into allowing them to dismantle the EPA (air and water), OSHA (work safety standards), the 8 hour work day, Mine Safety, and the Food and drug protections offered by the FDA.
We're all getting pulled in 10 different directions everyday, with work, church, and family responsibilities. We're working harder and worrying more, for less money, fewer benefits, and leaving us less time. But the Libertarians (Tea Party) sees us a gullible and too lazy to read! So with buzz words and slogans they capture us. Slap a Cross and a Flag on it and we think they actually represent God's Heart and the good of the Country.
I agree, we need change. But what America doesn't need is a radical haircut in the dark. Let's beseech God in Faith, not fear, for the answer. Ayn Rand, by the way is the prophet of the Libertarian Movement. Check it out and decide if that's the world that you want for your children. P.S. What would be the solution? Well step one is to realize the country is falling and Church Pastors silence is a contributing factor..That is the solution to start with..It is called Acceptance..
I provide this letter for all to give to your pastor's/preachers/ministers/rabbi's..If you can see the problems within your church…trust me your pastor can to…they are just frozen in fear right now from saying anything that might dry up their tithes..We have to politely remind them, you can not serve two masters for you will love one and hate the other, man can not serve both God and Money…..

You can start from the bottom up. I became a committeeman, by default. If you have the ability to get to the meetings and share the Truth, and question what’s there, evil seems to showing itself quite quickly. when you see it, do what you can to remove it.
