City council presentation to a packed house

Pleasanton City Council enjoyed a packed and overflowing audience on Tuesday Night May 3rd 2011.  I wish I could report it was because people have begun to rise up and speak to the economic collapse of our country, the march of tyranny, and asking council to begin to put together emergency plans to help the citizens have a better chance of surviving it.  NO….The crowd was there to show its opposition to council on a proposed rezone of land near their homes…ahhh yes NIMBYS are alive and well out here in California. That is “not in my back yard” people, for those not familar with the term. 

It did however provide me a great backdrop of ears to listen to the Faith & Survival message.  You will see I was interrupted, ask to stop speaking after about 2 minutes and 30 seconds, and scolded for going to long.  During that night many speakers went past five minutes, one went on for seven.  It reminds me clearly of scripture passages which tell us to be happy during persecution, to know that when you speak the truth most will not want to hear, in fact they will do all in their power to silence you.

The “NANNY STATE” is alive and well in Pleasanton California.  I don’t pass judgement on the Mayor, I believe she thinks she is doing the best job she can to try and get through a meeting.  The meeting lasted until 10:30 at night, I was there to the end, I understand, it is long.  I applaud the council for their attention, and in this meeting I even agreed with the Mayor on her willingness to sign an accord asking congress to stop funding the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, (not sure why Libya isn’t including but lets leave that for another day).

I continue to remind everyone that reads this article.  You have the power within you to do exactly what I am doing.  Ask God if it is his will for you to rise up in your local community and begin to speak the same message that I am.  If God says yes, the go online and find when your city has its meetings.  Every city council in America by law has to have a public comment period in which you are allowed to talk about anything for at least 3 minutes. On faithandsurvival.com is a page titled Chris Presentations, click on those links, watch them.  This can give you ideas and thoughts for how you could present.
